A Conservative Blogger Agrees with CAIR?
The Council of American-Islamic Relations issued a Press Release today condemning the use of full body scanners at U.S. airports. I'm deeply disturbed by these devices which are supposed to arrive here at Mpls/St. Paul International this summer.
I'm an extremely modest person, I hate the women's locker room. Side note to the guys: It's NOT what you think. Trust me. There are usually rotund women sitting on benches slathering lotion on their layers of fat. Blech! I finally switched membership from Lifetime Fitness to Fitness 19. Not only is it $110 less (per month), I don't have to deal with the visual pollution....anyhoo....
Who decided that we now have to either 1. be seen totally nude or 2. have our entire bodies patted down by government employees? Was there even a vote cast in Washington? If this isn't a major invasion of privacy and a major infrigement on our freedom, I don't know what is. This is not right. And where are the child advocates? I'm not letting anybody see my little girls' bodies...I'm so upset about this...I guess my choice is to drive?
It wasn't a body scanner that would have stopped the Christmas bomber. For the love of Pete, his FATHER told our government that this guy was a threat. And they failed to stop him from getting on a plane. He got on a plane without a passport! He's alive and well in his taxpayer-funded cell with three squares a day and the entire American flying public now has to be subjected to this humiliating exercise. Have we gone mad?
It's enough to make you want to get your pilot's license. I never supported the expansion of the federal government via the TSA after 9/11. Three of the hijackers were here on expired Visas, including the leader Muhammad Atta. Has there been some breakthrough that I haven't heard about? Has the federal government done something to boot people out of the country who are here illegally? I didn't think so. 8.5 years now. Tick tock. They wonder why the American public is so mad at them? Because they don't do what they're supposed to do....PROTECT US from these terrorists. We joke about the "underwear bomber", but it's a nervous joke we make. We all know that the country got lucky, really lucky, that day.
Umar Farouk Abdulmutalla should have been interrogated for days, instead he was given the best quality healthcare in the world and given the "right to remain silent." He was interrogated for a total of 50 minutes, then granted the rights of American citizens while REAL American citizens are rewarded by having more of our rights taken away. Something is wrong with this picture folks.
With the education system or the post office, one can simply work around the government, but not with air travel. Maybe somebody start an airline with private security and profiling... Sign me up for the frequent flyer program.
