May 25 Twin Cities Memorial Day Events

Today we honor those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms. KSTP-TV reports events in the metro area today:

Governor Tim Pawlenty and Senator Amy Klobuchar both speak at a ceremony at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at 10 a.m.

Another service to honor fallen soldiers will be held at the Eden Prairie Veterans Memorial in Purgatory Creek Park at 11 a.m.

At 3 p.m., there will be a service at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial on the Capitol grounds.

Lt. Gov. Carol Molnau will speak at the Chanhassen Veterans Monument dedication ceremony at 4:30 p.m. The ceremony will be held at City Center Park at West 78th Street and Market Boulevard.
