Sep 30 ACORN Allegations Multiply

A major Minnesota real estate company was allegedly taken to the cleaners by ACORN.

A major Minnesota based big box retailer may have also allegedly been squeezed by ACORN.

One of our largest banking institutions allegedly may have been tapped as well, by ACORN.

Not since the Sopranos took on public relations for the State of New Jersey has there been such brazen corruption, and it's allegedly happening in Lake Wobegon. Above all it shows an embarrassing lack of compunction among elected leaders who are supposed to protect us from this type of nonsense. Badabing Badaboom!

What is suggested by "taken to the cleaners" is an allegedly calculated process perpetrated (see organized, choreographed, executed) by ACORN staffers and volunteers. Looks like extortion. Smells like extortion. Could it be, extortion? What's particularly disturbing about this alleged ACORN organized trip to the Clean 'N Press is that it allegedly may have been orchestrated or abetted by folks who occupy some of the highest elected offices in Minnesota.

Why have we heard nothing about this? Primarily because public companies don't enjoy bad press, especially when the consequence of transperancy is being labelled a "racist" or "predatory" company. It's not good for business. And corporate legal departments are understandably more concerned about maintaining shareholder value than they are with right and wrong. So the scheme is allegedly launched via ACORN and the victim companies bend over and settle for undisclosed piles of cash. If Tom Petters had just run for office instead of plying his craft privately he may have been able to stay out of jail and keep his toys. If he had only known about this alleged racket.

Here's a scenario that a legitimate reporter might find plausible with a few pointed questions to folks in the know. That is if the media were to develop an appetite for anything that scrutinizes public officials who aren't republicans.

XYZ Real Estate Comany decides there is a market in the inner city neighborhoods of Minneapolis. XYZ spends $500,000 to set up offices complete with agents who speak a variety of languages. The idea is to sell homes. They succeed. Over 400 homes are listed and sold through this company. Send in the ACORN thugs.

A handful of home buyers buy second mortgage after second mortgage until they are so far undwerwater in their homes that there is no way out. They let the homes go to pot and once the property looks bad enough to become an illustrative poster in the alleged scam the recriminations against XYZ are launched by ACORN.

Allegations surface that XYZ Real Estate Company has allegedly screwed 4 of the 400 homeowners. ACORN officials arrange an ambush meeting with XYZ where the 4 alleged victims, and a supporting cast of dozens of their supporters, launch a series of threats alleging racism, discrimination and fraud. The stakes are high as XYZ is threatened with charges of racism and discrimination at the same time they have public offerings at stake in teh marketplace. XYZ is trapped. If they don't puke cash and keep the scam on the low down their commercial endeavors will be potentially squashed. Photos allegedly appear in an hispanic newspaper and lo and behold corporate legal swoops in. A meeting allegedly ensues with Attorney General Mike Hatch whose only advice to XYZ is alleged be to just pay the victims whatever they want and make them go away. Hatch says just pay ACORN? Hundreds of thousands of dollars change hands and the problem is allegedly solved.

And this alleged scam wasn't limited to the real estate business. Multiple sources suggest that the same game was played out on a major banking institution (racism/predation) and likewise on a major big box retailer (because they could). All with the alleged coordination by ACORN and supported by our elected folks.

If this is true we got us a doozy of a corruption problem in Minnesota. And I didn't even mention elections. Ooops.
