In this day and age, especially after the tragic shootings in Colorado, I am evermore convinced that any building that "bans guns in these premises" is one of the last places I would want to be with an armed madman on the loose. A key point in this story is being downplayed by the liberal media: the gunman who killed five at Colorado's New Life Church was stopped dead in his tracks by an armed security guard. A security guard armed with a gun was the hero who prevented the loss of life from being even worse than it was. Political signage that "ban" guns, nuclear weapons, or carbon emissions are pollyannaish at best, deadly at worst. Like it or not, wishing doesn't make it so. Should criminals and the mentally unstable who possess firearms illegally be the only armed persons in a church, school, or mall? |
