Tea Time - We Surround Them
Ya gotta love how the mainstream media tries to downplay what happened yesterday in St. Paul and across the state. The national outlets were confrontational with attendees and dismissive of the reason people assembled to peaceably protest. The local media were actually more scared of rubbing elbows with the "right wingers" then they were the urine and feces toting anarchists who aimed to storm the RNC last Summer. We got news choppers and some camera men who stood way WAY WAY behind the crowd. The news stories I bothered to look at seem to be intended to give Democrats a chance to talk about how we just HAVE to raise taxes, rather then actually talk about what the Tea Party message is. We're already taxed enough and Government is growing beyond its means.
I was at the St. Paul event, and there were thousands (note the plural) of people there. The early number I put up was from an early estimate by Mitch Berg at the beginning. People kept streaming in. At one point I heard someone say 8,000 to 10,000. The Capital grounds make it very hard to get a grasp, but I would easily say at least 5,000 from my limited experience.
But the bigger point is not arguing over the number, but rather that thousands of people came down to the Capital on a weeknight to join thousands of other people to rally against the out of control Government. High taxes, spending, intervention, and radical policies were the reasons thousands showed up yesterday. We're not right wing extremists. We're freedom loving people who just wanted to let our government know we don't agree with them.
The organizers did a great job of keeping the event from being partisan, and rightly so. Republicans did a lot to help spur the mentality in government ranks that the Government can do anything it wants. Obama and the Democrats took the open door (left by Bush and former GOP Congress's) to Big Government and socialism. They are trying to fast track the US into destroying the free markets and mortgage our children's future for bailouts and ponze schemes on health care, wealth redistribution, and envirolunacy. Central planning and dictating how we live is the goal at hand for Obama and Government bureaucrats.
What happened yesterday across the nation was proof that America is not dead. It is something that weighs on many of us after the election and the rapid assault on freedom, liberty, and the Constitution since January 21st (and yes, even before then). But yesterday we got a chance to see that we are not alone. That we surround them. That we do have the power, and more importantly - the will, to save America.
God bless the people who stood up yesterday like our Founders did over 200 years ago to an oppressive regime hell bent on ruling a people rather then serving it. There is a reason the media and liberals in Government ranks are downplaying what transpired yesterday. Because they are behaving like King George. The American government is becoming an Empire, but it isn't looking to take over other nations. Nope the regions the Federal government aims to rule over are called states, the people who it wants to control and tax are not foreigners, but rather citizens.
Yesterday thousands of Minnesotans stood up and said no. Tens of thousands of Americans stood up and said no!
We let them know that we're not going to lay down and let the hard work of the generations of freedom loving Americans who came before us - go down the drain on a pseudo promise of hope and change and free things. Life doesn't work that way, proof of that is how the nations who have tried what Obama is, have either failed or are hell holes where oppression reigns supreme and freedom is only found on the black market.
It runs contrary to the media's plan which is to give aid and comfort to Obama, hence the bogus reporting on the attendance and the moratorium on covering what was said at the Tea Parties yesterday. Luckily the American people don't need a President to tell them what to do. Luckily the American people don't need a media to tell them what they have to think.
God bless America.
