I just found the proof I have been looking for that shows that Minnesota is attracting losers while losing taxpayers. I just completed a course on Minnesota's Demographics and there are 3 measurements for the population estimates for our state. The State Demographic Center estimates that we have gained 130,540 people in the last 5 years. The US Census Bureau estimates that we added 47,888 people to the state in the last 5 years. The IRS notes that we LOST 12,093 tax payers in the last five years! There you have it. We are attracting people that don't pay taxes and losing people that do pay taxes.
There was a ton of information in the course and none of it looks very good for Minnesota. In 30 years that state will be largely old white people and young minorities with the tax paying 30 to 50 crowd roughly the same size it is today, but with a much larger tax burden.
