Unsung Heroes
It's an understatement, I know, to say that I have a sharp tongue for government. But I'm also someone who, as a manager knows the value, and importance of acknowledging a job well done.
Information recently came to my attention that actually caused me to praise my elected representatives. The information came not through the MSM, which will no doubt keep this kind of blasphemy on the way-down-low, but through my next-door neighbor.
It seems that, as tax and spend liberals such as Saint Paul mayor Chris Coleman and his ilk shed their smarmy tears while piling ever more taxes on the backs of their increasingly un, or under employed citizens, the Dakota County Commissioners have managed, somehow, to keep the county's lights on while sparing residents another increase in the tax levy.
It's a shame, really, that our elected officials so seldom act in the best interests of the taxpayers that their doing so rates special notice, but such is the case.
Kudos to:
District 1 - Commissioner Joseph A. Harris
District 2 - Commissioner Kathleen A. Gaylord
District 3 - Commissioner Thomas A. Egan
District 4 - Commissioner Nancy Schouweiler
District 5 - Commissioner Liz Workman
District 6 - Commissioner Paul J. Krause
District 7 - Commissioner Willis E. Branning
and especially to Brandt Richardson, Dakota County Administrator.
He's the guy that works where the rubber meets the road, and the fellow that is tasked with actually managing a unionized workforce that without doubt is reeling in shock.
Well done, ladies and gentlemen, well done indeed!
If you live in Dakota County, please take the time to send these people a note of thanks...they deserve it. board @ co.dakota.mn.us
