Regulating Himself A Nice Cushy Retirement
Senator Norm Coleman has decided to play the role of the concerned politician and protest the decision (made long ago) to close the St. Paul Ford plant. The decision to close was motivated mostly because Ford has to respond to a shift in consumer buying decisions. Due to high energy prices, consumers are buying more fuel-efficient vehicles...rather than the Ford Ranger truck produced in St. Paul.
Ok....
....so if Coleman is so concerned about that. Then why is he supporting the Lieberman-Warner Climate Change Boondoggle Bill?? A bill that not only will accomplish nothing of substance for the environment, but will certainly drive up energy prices even more. Which would in turn further hasten the closing of these types of plants not only in Minnesota, but across our great nation??
Hypocrisy in it's most ugly of forms.
Although I suppose from Coleman's point of view this is really a no brainer. Afterall this Climate Change bill with it's monstrous amount of regulations and mandates, is a lobbyist's wet dream. So even if (when?) Coleman loses re-election, he can get a nice cushy gig as a lobbyist helping companies navigate their way through regulatory hell.
So it's a win-win situation for Coleman, but a lose-lose situation for the rest of us....you know, the working taxpayer.
