So, you want to force American businesses to cease and desist from shipping jobs overseas? You need to think it through. Our problem, as a nation, isn’t that we don’t have the engineering and R&D capacity to compete in the world. Americans, as a rule, can out-engineer any other country on the planet. But, now that you have conceived of a product, how do you bring it to market competitively? According to Randall Stephenson, the CEO of AT&T America lacks the fundamental smarts to produce and manufacture. Stephenson said he is especially distressed that in some U.S. communities and among certain groups, the high school dropout rate is as high as 50 percent.
