Pondering The Imponderable

At the SD 45 caucus last night the rooms were packed.  It doesn’t take a master’s degree in politics to know why the turnout was so impressive:  Conservatives are scared.  They see their party being hijacked by a moderate element willing to exchange big government solutions for power and political expediency.  They wanted to send a message to the McCain people.

Romney won big in our local caucus.

Nationally, the trend didn’t carry over.  It looks, for better or worse, that John McCain is going to be the standard bearer for our party.

In 1992 I voted for Ross Perot, effectively throwing my vote away.  In hindsight, I allowed Bill Clinton to rise to power.

Would I throw my vote away again?

I’m thinking.  I’m thinking…
