State Representative Mary Franson today scored a huge win in the House District 8B recount with challenger Bob Cunniff.

Douglas County election officials completed their portion of the automatic recount – which occurred due to Franson’s victory of less than one half of a percent against Cunniff - in just a matter of hours. The final results show Franson still ahead by 11 votes after both she and Cunniff picked up a vote each.

 

Cunniff won Douglas County – as well as the entire City of Alexandria – by a large margin while Franson won Otter Tail county with 1,008 votes, making it difficult for Cunniff to cut into the 11 vote deficit.
