More Details Emerge On Linda Pfeilsticker's Arrest For Drunk Driving

Written by Michael B. Brodkorb.

"Linda Pfeilsticker, a (DFL) candidate for the state House of Representatives, had a blood-alcohol level more than twice the legal limit when she was charged with misdemeanor drunken driving earlier this month, police said.

A Wabasha County sheriff’s deputy reported finding Pfeilsticker's car early Dec. 9 stuck in the ditch on Highway 60 within Wabasha city limits near her home. The deputy said the 36-year-old Pfeilsticker appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and failed field sobriety tests. Her blood-alcohol level was measured at 0.17 percent about 1:30 a.m. Dec. 9, said Wabasha County Sheriff Rodney Bartsch." Source: Winona Daily News, December 27, 2007

"Pfeilsticker, 36, was driving on Minnesota Highway 60 at Skyline Drive on Dec. 9 when she drove off the road and into a ditch. She was returning from the 40th birthday party of a friend and had been drinking.

The deputy who responded to the accident smelled alcohol on her breath and arrested her after she failed a field sobriety test, authorities say. Pfeilsticker's blood-alcohol level was tested at 0.17, more than twice the legal limit. She was booked and released. It was her first such incident, authorities say.

Her first court appearance is set for Jan. 7. She has been charged with fourth-degree DUI, a crime punishable by up to 90 days in jail and a $1,000 fine. Given that it is her first violation, Pfeilsticker probably won't face jail time, authorities say."
