A dedicated TrueNorth reader attended last weekend's Pride Festival and wrote us,

While wandering around the Pride Festival in Loring Park last weekend I was handed a flyer about upcoming events related to RNC Convention Protests. One that caught my eye read as follows:

SDS Civil Disobedience Training - Tuesday, 7/8, 5pm @ Mayday Bookstore, 301 Cedar Ave. S. Mpls. - Students for a Democratic Society provides all the information you need to prepare to take a stand.

It was interesting, to say the least.

A friend also told me that he saw an AntiWar Committee booth at the festival. This is what they were handing out to event-goers. Our reader sent us a PDF of the flyer, and the SDS training was nothing compared to the last event on page one and the printer's seal on page two:

Nothing like a fun game of Dilgo Bingo to cap off a week of planning and civil disobedience training. All in good fun. But, let's see what's on the other side of the flyer:

At least protesters are reaching out to all genders - and I have no issue with that. Then, my eye caught the oval shape in the lower left corner and we asked the reader to verify. They rescanned that corner and, behold:

I.B.T. 320 Minneapolis. Teamsters printed this flyer, hopefully not the Dildo Bingo cards. I'm sure many union members are pleased to know their hard-earned dues are going to help promote AWC projects. The 320 web site says,

Teamsters Local 320 represents approximately 11,500 public employees throughout the state of Minnesota. Our members come from a wide range of positions, but all have one thing in common, and that is serving communities in our state.

I guess that wide range of positions includes anarchists and protesters training for civil disobedience, and found it ironic to see who IBT 320 members include:

  • Law Enforcement
  • School Districts
  • Univ. of Minn
  • MSUAASF
  • Cities
  • Counties
  • Judicial
  • MAC

And just whose members may be arresting, prosecuting, and judging these anarchists and others trying to stop the convention this fall? That also begs the question, what other anti-RNC "events" and propaganda are union member dues paying for?
