In what can only cause me to scratch my head, an urban DFLer has made this truly fascinating statement.

"This is about the state of Minnesota second-guessing the wisdom of our law enforcement chiefs, interjecting themselves in the process of running a police department," said rep. Carlos Mariani, DFL-St. Paul.

That was in response to a proposed amendment that would cut off state funds (L.G.A. aka Municipal Welfare) to any safe cities that protect illegal aliens by barring their Police Officers from checking the residency status of any immigrants. Correct me if I am wrong, but don't lawmakers make the laws that law enforcement officers are supposed to enforce?
