Erik Leist

Erik Leist, creator of Minnesota Right Now, is a 2010 graduate of the University of Minnesota Duluth with a Bachelors of Music in K-12 Instrumental Music Education. He began his political involvement with the College Republicans at UMD, and was elected treasurer of that group in 2009. Upon graduation he co-founded the 8th congressional district chapter of the Minnesota Young Republicans and is currently the Chairman of that group. During the summer of 2010, Leist served as political director for a state house campaign, as well as lending some of his time to Chip Cravaack's campaign for United State's Congress. He is currently a 'Captain' for Cravaack's 2012 campaign team. Apart from his political involvement, Leist teaches instrumental music in the Minnesota public school system.
