All About The Benjamins
One of the dirty little secrets about abortion can be found by studying Planned Parenthoods founder Margaret Sanger. Margaret Sanger is a well know eugenicist who once spoke of "sterilizing unfit populations" for the "salvation of American civilization". Abortion opponents have long asserted that the abortion industry (headed by the organization Sanger founded) hurts minority communities the most but we had not really had solid numbers to back that assertion up...UNTIL NOW.
Whether you agree with it or not, call it murder or choice; abortions are contributing to a slow growing Black population. Thirty-seven percent of abortions in the U.S. come from African American women, but Black people only make up 12% of the population. Black women have the highest rates of abortion at 50 terminated pregnancies out of 1000 (White women 11 in 1000, Hispanic women 28 in 1000).*
Since the legalization of Roe vs. Wade in 1973, nearly a quarter of all pregnancies in the U.S. have ended in abortion.
Emphasis mine. Abortion in the African American community ensures that they will long remain a minority of the American population. A minority that the majority can continue to keep "under control" thanks to an ever declining population.
Nearly 14 million Black pregnancies have ended in abortion since 1973. The Guttmacher Institute, which specializes in pregnancy statistics, finds that though abortions have decreased in the last decade, abortion is still significantly high for women in poor economic conditions.
Nearly 25% of all abortions are done because women say they cannot afford another responsibility.
Blacks have a higher pregnancy rate than Whites, but at least 70% of them are unintended. According to research, 42% of America’s 3.1 million pregnancies per year end in abortion. Another interesting fact is that most Planned Parenthood clinics and abortions facilities are located in low-income and urban communities, where the population is predominantly Black and Hispanic.
So what does this all mean? For one, Black people are not planning parenthood. Second, abortions are being used as a form of birth control. Also, pregnancy termination has become a primary option, especially those living in challenging economic conditions.
There are several disturbing facts in the above paragraphs. Starting with the fact that 14 million African American babies have been killed since 1973. Again I have to wonder how many Presidents, scientists, community leaders, business leaders or Congressmen/women never were as a result of abortion. Then there is the fact that PP puts the majority of their clinics in minority communities. Saddest of all though has to do with the FACT that Planned Parenthood does not help one "plan" parenthood. Remember that the cause d'etre for PP was supposedly pregnancy prevention. However, rather than preventing the pregnancies in their neighborhoods, PP is terminating millions of black babies - just what Margaret Sanger most wanted her organization to do!
Williams (Sally Williams, a former Crisis Pregnancy Center counselor and founder of Urban Life Matters) points out that racist forces no longer have to do the dirty work themselves, instead strategic placement of clinics and promotion of free contraceptives accomplish the racist agenda....
Williams believes Planned Parenthood has the same agenda it had since its establishment in 1921. She says most women who go to these clinics come with the purpose to confirm a pregnancy, but are greeted with brochures about abortion options.
“Many of the young girls I work with tell me this. My niece was pregnant and knew she didn’t want to get an abortion; she just wanted to confirm her pregnancy and someone to talk to. The first brochure that was presented to her was a brochure encouraging her to get an abortion saying you’re young, you’re in school, you have all of this ahead of you…” Williams said.
Abortion is big business for Planned Parenthood. That is one reason why they push so hard to reach an ever younger audience. As the baby boomers have gotten beyond the prime age for conceiving babies, PP's "customer" base has shrunk dramatically. As American women have fewer and fewer children the need for abortion goes down more and more. This is real dirty little secret about Planned Parenthood....it's all about the "Benjamins".
