Representative Peterson - Hello!!!!
This short post by Jay Nordlinger of NRO says a lot about Representative Colin Peterson, {D} from MN's 7th Congressional District. Jay attended the Oslo Freedom Forum which featured many former political prisoners. He suggested someone total the number of years these people had spent in prison.
Rep. Peterson, Democrat Chairman of the US House Agricultural Committee, is sponsoring a bill to repeal US sanctions against Cuba. Peterson said, “people who oppose this bill are not speaking on behalf of the Cuban people, regardless of what they say.”
How are these two ideas connected?
Well, 256 Cuban political prisoners sent a letter to Rep. Peterson with the total number of years they had spent in the Cuban gulag: 3551, sentences ranged from 2-29 years. This number counts just those who wrote the letter. How many more are there, Rep. Peterson? Who cares about the Cuban people?
